I woke up this morning bright eyed and bushy tailed. 'Well' I announced, ' that storm they promised didn't come to anything, did it?'
There was a horrible, stunned silence.....
'You mean you didn't hear it?'
'I thought my window was going to break'
'The wind was howling for hours'
etc etc
And I'd slept right through it.
I always said I could sleep through a siege. Once, when I was a very young guest at a wedding I even managed to fall asleep between the bride and groom.

Yes, I felt that too, but mostly because it dislodged a lamp off my mirror!
I woke up with a jerk!

Sounds like quite a storm from some of the entries. I can't sleep with big winds as we had a bad storm when Jenn was a baby. It took down huge trees and ever since then I wake up.

Didn't wake up either but then I don't think it was too bad last night in this neck of the woods. There were no trees on the tracks so managed to get into work OK Were a few delays coming home but nothing serious

I woke up early and heard the wind and rain, but didn't think it was anything unusual! It got worse middayish - like premature night!

We had thunder and lightning near midday - I thought I had a migraine coming on at first!

Yes, I'm afraid everyone else was up and awake, worrying and I slept right through!

We're used to storms and gales here, where I am, even so, there are times when they can be disturbing any time.
There were a large number of people with loss of power today I heard. Also, the storms, gales and whatever are moving northward, giving those in the south respite.
The bride and groom have probably never forgotten that bit of their wedding day!

Some parts of the country have had really bad storm damage... I can hear the weather picking up again as I write now, so maybe we're going to get our problems tomorrow (thought I fervently hope not!)

I feel for those people affected by the storms. Selsey seemed badly affected.
Some reporter went to Hove to shout at the cameraman to prove how windy it was! The media really wanted that inch difference in the turn of the wind to make some headlines.
Well I woke up and thought I had a burglar after checking everything and finding it might have been the wind 
i sheepishly went back to bed
although a workmate has come into work today saying he has lost a few tiles of his roof so far
