The difference with scientists....

Several times on this blog I've come across discussions about the validity of anything outside of science. Examples could be Herbal medicine, religious beliefs, etc. I came across this little gem this morning that might just sum it all up:

The graduate with a science degree asks, "Why does it work?"

The graduate with an engineering degree asks, "How does it work?"

The graduate with an accounting degree asks, "How much will it cost?"

The graduate with an arts degree asks, "Do you want fries with that?"

I was surprised at the last sentence - a bit cynical, but with more than a grain of truth.

I thought it might be "It does work, so I believe it"!

  Yes, I thought the last sentence was a bit out of kilter. Maybe it could have been 'I don't care whether it works or not, but I just can't live with that colour!'

The last response surprised me too , unless it was a ploy to dismiss the question and talk about something else ?
