Mamma Mia!

by tylluanpenry @ Friday, 18. Jul, 2008 - 10:24:03

As a welcome break from being up to my eyes in Mandrakes (well, on paper at least!) two of my daughters decided to take me to the cinema to see Mamma Mia. It was great fun, and was the only film I've ever been to see where everyone was still in their seats when the lights came on again. Apparently some viewings have had the audience singing along too, but I went early in the morning (probably so I didn't embarrass my daughters with my terrible laugh. It's been known to make strong men shudder...)

Anyway, the final draft is almost done, just a little bit of cleaning up now, sorting out the glossary and the index and I'm done. It's a great feeling! Now for the next book.... Mamma Mia, here I go again....

I went to the stage production when it first opened in London. It was an unforgettable experience - as you said everyone was standing.

It must have been great on the stage - it would be interesting to see how it compared with the film version!

It was great fun, I'm sure you'd enjoy it, especially if you like Abba's songs!

Great that you took time out and enjoyed yourself. Maybe you can do that more often.

“Knowing Me, Knowing You” and “When All Is Said and Done” “People Need Love” “I Have a Dream” that one day I will have “Money, Money, Money” but it is always “Slipping Through My Fingers” and some would say that’s “The Name of the Game”, but still “Another Town, Another Train” and “The Winner Takes It All” so “Take a Chance on Me” and “Just Like That” everything will be “As Good as New”

I went to see it last week and was taken by surprise by how much I enjoyed it. It was fun and I laughed so much (isn't Julie Walters absolutely brilliant!!?) It's been a long time that I've seen a movie that I've enjoyed so much - it was pure entertainment.

Yes, as you say - pure entertainment! My daughters have gone off to see it again this evening and reckon it was even better second time around!

I'm looking forward to seeing the film version. We just saw it last year live and it was fantastic.
