Firstly a big thank you to my blogfriends for your birthday wishes and posts. It was really kind of you and very much appreciated.
I had a great birthday - the weather stayed fine, which meant I got to sit in the garden in my arbour almost all day.....
I had a beautiful set of books from Mr Penry which should keep me reading from now until January...and the family were able to visit and we could enjoy a birthday meal (not to mention some wine
) together.
There's definitely something to be said for summer days, but only when you're not stuck indoors doing a job you hate! The first sign of summer we all need a little time in our spiritual garden to sit, smell the lavender and roses, and dream...how do you like to spend summer days?

Glad you had a wonderful birthday.
My ideal summer day is doing just that - sitting in the garden surrounded by scented flowers and the sound of water, preferably with a nice glass of something. Over the last few years, one of my key memories is sitting outside with the latest Harry Potter book!
