Some time ago I blogged about Mr Penry's excursion that culminated in him driving home with a giant owl strapped to the roof of our car....
I meant to photograph the said owl long ago, but alas first the weather was terrible and then I was feeling pretty rough... well, enough of excuses. Here is Owlie, standing proud:
Bearing in mind that the bench Owlie is standing on is actually too high for me to sit on (unless I stand on a bucket first), he's pretty impressive, isn't he?

Despite being an atheist, I do have a strong intellectual interest in the way these sorts of ideas are so pervasive in the minds of humanity. Perhaps your book will shed some light there for me.

I suspect Owlie is about to create his own tribe. You're right about him looking like a totem, standing there on the bench.... I'll have to measure how high he is one of these days!

Well I haven't measured it, but as I said, it's too high for me to sit on unless I first climb up on a bucket!
